This quick reference provides you with the basic information you need in order to install SET on a corporate server.

    Hardware Requirements

    1. Pentium 4
    2. 2 GB of disk space
    3. 1.5 GB RAM or higher (Recommended 2 GB)
    4. CD-ROM

    Software Requirements

    1. (Recommended) Windows 2000 Server/Windows 2000 advanced server/Windows 2003 Server (With Arabic language installed)
    2. Microsoft Word 2000/2003/XP (Arabic version)
    3. MS SQL Server 2000 (With Service Pack 3 installed)

    Setting the Default Language

Before you start installing SET on the server, you should make sure that your Windows supports Arabic. With Arabic support added, you can then set the default language of your system to either English or Arabic as SET can run on either setting. To add Arabic support and set the default language, read through the following section:

    Windows 2000

    1. From the "Start" menu, point to "Settings", then to "Control Panel" and select "Regional Options". The Regional Options property sheet opens.

    2. Click the "General" tab, the General tab opens.

    3. From the "Language settings for the system" click "Arabic" to add the Arabic language support and then click "Apply".

    4. When prompted for your Windows source, supply the CD, or the Windows source on the network.

    5. To set the default language, click the "Set Default" button. The "Select System Locale" dialog box.

    6. Select "Arabic" or "English" from the list and then click "OK".

    7. Restart the system for the new settings to take effect.

    System Installation

This section covers the parts of SET installation:

    SET Setup

Before installing SET 5.0, there are certain steps you should do if you are migrating your data from SET 3.0 to SET 5.0:

    1. Copy the contents of SETMigrate folder on SET 3.0 server.

    2. Browse through the contents of SETMigrate folder and run SQLConnector.exe application.

    3. If the .Net Framework 1.1 is not installed on your machine, run the dotnetfx.exe setup.

    4. Run SETStore.exe application to export SET 3.0 data.

    5. Keep the folder that contains the exported data.

    6. After installing SET 5.0, run SETStore.exe to import SET 3.0 data.

    To install SET 5.0:

    1. From the installation CD, run "setup.exe", the installation wizard starts.

Notes: If you are installing SET on a Windows 2003 Server, you must make sure that the Active Server Pages is allowed from the Web Service Extensions in IIS.

    2. Click "Next" to move to the next screen where you can select the installation folder and then click "Next".

    3. Specify the SET Web site configuration on the server by selecting either of the two following options:

Install SET as the default Web site: for SET to install the SET Web site and set it as a default Web site in IIS. You can check that SET has installed folders titled "SET", "Ajeeb" and "Ajeeb2" under the "Default Web Site" node in IIS.

Install SET as a new Web site: for SET to install SET Web site as a new Web site in IIS. You can check that SET has installed a new node "SET Web Site", under which you can see three folders titled "SET", "Ajeeb" and "Ajeeb2" in IIS.

    4. SET FTP site is configured as default FTP site, with default port 21. Follow the instructions on-screen until the wizard starts copying SET files to your server and configures your system.

    5. You will then be prompted to specify whether you have SQL or MSDE: If you use SQL, Setup will proceed normally.  If you use MSDE, Setup will install Microsoft SQL DeskEngine after the installation. If you choose to install MSDE, setup will require a restart, so please insert CD1 before restarting the server.

    6. Setup will then offer to install MS.NET Framework for you. This option is recommended if you plan to make use of SET Web Services bundled with the SET installation.

    7. Follow the instructions on-screen until the wizard starts copying SET files to your server. If you chose to install MSDE, it will be automatically installed as well.

    8. SET will then run the SQL Connector to let you configure the connection settings of the SQL server so that SET can connect to the database.

Select the database option (SQL Server 2000, or SET MSDE) by selecting the relevant radio button.

In the "Server" box, type the name of the server on which the SQL/MSDE database is installed.

In the "User Name" and "Password" boxes, type the user name and passwords that you use to connect to the SQL/MSDE database.

    9. The installation wizard will then finish and prompt you to configure SET Automator. This is a special tool to automate administration of the SET SQL database in terms of creation and configuration. Select the "I would like to launch SET SQL Automator" checkbox and then click "Finish".

    Notes:

If SQL is installed on a different server, the Automator will be installed on that remote server, and will subsequently run from there.

If SQL is installed on a different server, the Automator will be installed on that remote server, and will subsequently run there.

    10. Once Setup has finished installing the SET SQL Automator, the Automator tool will run. Supply the Automator data as follows:

Type your username and password in the "User Name" and "Password" boxes respectively.

Note: SET supports SQL authentication only, and not Windows-based authentication.

Select the checkbox in the dialog box if you want to overwrite old (SET SQL) database, if any.

Click "Create" for the Automator to create the SET SQL database.

Now that Setup has finished, please read through the following paragraphs to configure DSNs for SET before you can start working.

    Configuring SET DSNs

Now you have to configure three DSNs that have been created during installation.

To do this, follow these steps:

    1. From the "Start" menu, point to "Programs", then to "Administrative Tools" and then select "Data Source (ODBC)".

    2. Select the "System DSN" tab, the DSN tab opens. In the system data sources, you will find the following DSN's listed among others:

    SET_SQL_DSN

    SET_GLOSSARIES_DSN

    TM_SQL

    3. Select any of the above-listed DSNs and then click "Configure". The Microsoft SQL Server DSN Configuration wizard appears.

    4. From the "Server" list, select the server name where SET SQL Database is installed and then click "Next".

    5. On the next wizard page, click the second radio option "With SQL server Authentication using a login ID and Password entered by the user".

    6. Select the check box titled "Connect to SQL server to obtain default Setting for the additional configuration options:"

    7. In "Login ID" and "Password", type the login and passwords (respectively) by which the system administrator will have access to the DSN you are configuring.

    8. Repeat previous steps from 3 through 9 to configure the other two DSNs.

    Defining Internet Connection Settings

To define the connection settings of your server, do as follows steps:

    1. Browse for the "siteproxy.txt" file located on the root directory "c:\".

    2. Open the file to start adding your connection settings.

    3. For proxy connection servers:

    4. Type "ON" on the first line.

    5. Type the proxy IP and port number on the next line.

    6. For direct connection servers:

    7. Type "OFF" on the first line.

    8. Leave the rest of the file empty.

    Setting Security Permissions

If you installed the application on NTFS partition, you should set the security permissions for the SET folder as follows:

    1. Right-click the "SET" installation folder, a context menu appears.

    2. Click "Properties". The SET folder properties sheet appears.

    3. Select the "Security" tab.

    4. Make sure that the users group "Everyone" is selected, if not, click "Add" and add it.

    5. Select the "Read" and "Write" options to grant Everyone full access to the SET folder.

Note: Once done with all the setup steps explained above, restart the server.

    Setting Server IP in IIS

During SET Setup, you are offered two options for installing SET Web site; to create a new Web site for SET, to install SET as the Default Web site, or to install SET as a new Web site. If you choose to make SET your default Web site, Setup will make all necessary changes in IIS so that SET runs on the server using the default server settings. But, if you choose to create a new server, you should define your new server settings in IIS in order to make your new SET server available for corporate users.

To define the IP address of the new Web site in IIS:

    1. From the "Start" menu, point to "Administrative Tools", then to "Internet Services Manager". The Internet Information Services dialog box appears.

    2. Browse for the "SET Web Site" node and then right-click it. A context menu appears.

    3. Select "Properties". The Default Web Site Properties appear where you can define the SET server settings.

    4. Click the Web Site tab.

    5. In the "IP Address" field, type the intranet IP of the server where SET has been installed.

    6. In the "TCP IP Port", type the port number.

    7. Click "OK".

    Changing Passwords for MSDE

You can change the Password you use to log in to the MSDE database at any time by doing as follows:

    1. From "Start" menu, click "Programs", point to "Sakhr Enterprise Translation", and then select "MSDE Account Manager".

    2. In the dialog box that appears, supply the server name, new user name and password, and then click "OK".

    3. From "Start" menu, click "Programs", point to "Sakhr Enterprise Translation", and then select "SQL connector".

    4. Supply the new server name, user name and password, and then click "OK".

    Repairing SET Installation

For maximum convenience, you can repair your version of SET or Automator. Setup will then enable you to check your installation and fix any problems.

    1. From the "Start" menu, click "Programs", point to "Sakhr Enterprise Translation" and then select "SET Installer". The Repair/Remove dialog box appears.

    2. Select "Repair" to fix your current installation of SET, and then click "Next".

    3. Setup will then ask for your permission to restart your WWW service. Click "Ok" when ready to restart.

    4. Setup will then re-copy installation files to your previous installation folders and will then configure your system to run SET.

    5. The Connector dialog box will then appear to enable you to supply your SQL server information i.e. server name, username, and password.

    6. Setup will then prompt you to launch SET SQL Automator, select the checkbox for running Automator and then click "Finish".

    7. When SET SQL Automator wizard starts, click "Continue" to start the repair/remove wizard for SET SQL Automator.

Note: In case SET SQL Automator fails for any reason later, you can browse for installationfolder\Sakhr\SET\automator\setsqlautomator.exe and run it for repair.

    8. Select "Repair" and then click "Next" to re-install the Automator.

    Removing SET

To remove SET, do as follows:

    1. From the "Start" menu, click "Programs", point to "Sakhr Enterprise Translation" and then select "SET Installer". The Repair/Remove dialog box appears.

    2. Select "Remove" and then click "Next".

    3. Setup will then ask for your permission to restart your WWW service. Click "Ok" when ready to restart.

    4. After restarting, SET Installer will proceed to uninstall SET.

    Removing SET SQL Automator

Removing SET does not automatically remove SET SQL Automator. To remove this tool, do as follows:

    1. From the "Start" menu, point to "SET SQL Automator" and then select "SET SQL Installer".

    2. The SET SQL Installer will start. Follow the instructions on-screen to remove the SET SQL Automator.

    General Notes

    1. If you are translating large text file (250KB) then it is recommended to split the file into small-size files to get faster results.

    2. Importing large number of TM entries (over 5000 entries) may take long time so it is recommended to do this process when the system is idle.

    License Authorization

To authorize SET license, do as follows:

    1. After launching SET setup, a setup screen containing the site code will appear.

    2. Send the generated site code by e-mail to sales@aramedia.com

    3. Sakhr technical support team will send you an e-mail including the proper site key.

    4. Type this site key in the "Site Key" text box.

    5. Click "Next".

Note: For more details refer to SET_Admin_5_0.pdf manual on SET CD.

    Troubleshooting

SET Conflicts with Macfee Virus Scan

    Symptoms

If you have set the options for Macfee Virus Scan to scan all files, Macfee will scan the *.ASA files, causing their status to be modified repeatedly. As a result, IIS will be restarting the service needlessly.

    Solution

Modify your scan options so that the system will scan selected files only, excluding *.ASA as follows:

    1. Right-click the Netshield icon in the system tray, a context menu appears.

    2. Select "Properties", the Netshield property sheet appears.

    3. On the "Detection" tab, click "Selected file types only " in the "Types only" section.

    4. Click the "File Types" button, and the dialog box that appears, make sure that Macfee does not scan "ASA" extension.
